The whole child
Lessons, play, a daily meal and practical skills such as cooking, so children grow in confidence as well as knowledge.
A community school in Kihuura, Kyenjojo District, giving local children a strong primary education and caring for the whole child: mind, body, character and faith.

Nyakahama St. Mary's was started in Kihuura, Kyenjojo District, so that children in our villages could get a basic primary education close to home. Most families here live from small farms, and school costs are a real struggle. Today, with parents, teachers and partners working together, the school is a place where children learn, eat, play and are looked after.

The walls of a new classroom block are up, but it still needs a roof, doors, windows, floors and desks. Many parents also cannot meet the cost of fees, uniforms and books. Gifts towards the classrooms, school fees and a computer lab change what is possible for children in Kihuura. Every gift is recorded and reported.
